Just a reminder that home readers have begun. We want to encourage students to read each night and enjoy this process!
We encourage students to bring their readers each day to school so that new books can be given out. Also, all notes/notices and correspondence will be placed in the Home Reader pencil case so please ensure you check this on a daily basis!
As children are still learning letters and sounds we encourage you to read with your child. Talk about the pictures, point to words as you/they read and find letters on the page. These are all great ways to develop the skills of reading and a positive association to books. The more children read and the wider the variety of books they read/look at the better. They could be cook books, websites, magazines, picture story or non-fiction books! What ever you have at home! It is also a great way to connect with your child and share something special with them! Happy reading, Miss DV. 🙂
